Why doesn't the universe have a center? How can I comprehend this?

I'm a brainlet.
Can one of you autistic neckbeards explain in simple terms how our universe has no center?
Apparently, you can stand in any point in our universe and see the same distance all around you. How is that possible??
Also, our universe is constantly expanding, therefore if we could magically press a rewind button to observe our universe shrinking backwards, wouldn't it shrink to the point where the big bang happened? Scientists say no. But why not?? I don't understand.

I've been reading articles about this for several weeks, and have watched an awful lot of YouTube videos trying to understand it, but I still can't, and it's really bothering me. Seriously.
Help. Thanks.
