OP, if you want something enough motivation is easy.
However, mental health issues will prevent motivation but the desire does not go away and causes conflict.
If you find yourself not caring about anything you are depressed and should seek help.

The real question is why is EVERYONE not motivated. Why do people waste countless hours doing activities that accomplish absolutely nothing (watching sports on TV as an example)
Why are people obese?
