It's called progression.
People get overwhelmed, even in analysis classes, you're taught about the definition of a derivative first and are meant to be comfortable with it, then you start obsessing over differentiablity and continuity and what not. Whereas if you were told all that from day 1 you'd be lost.
Even if some elements of a concept are technically true, an absolute beginner doesn't need to be told of them, at least not immediately and at the same time that they're internalising everything else.
Imagine teaching a beginner about the concept of a power set then going off on a tangent about the possible independence of the axiom of power and how this would affect the consistency of zfc and then bring up how problems like ch are undecidable in certain models etc, all of these are technically relevant but it's ridiculous.
