I can't even find documentation on Scandium being used as a standard for that. Are you sure it can't be replaced without a big deal?

I completely forgot about Gallium Arsenic for electronics. It's super useful.

For exotic nuclei, might want to check in on the hypertriton isotope.
Also they can put an antiproton in the "electron" shell, which is then stable. THAT actually turns out useful for research:
