-Like doing thing
-Find out who is doing it the best
-Find out how they are doing it the best
-Copy that, and inovate
And your measures for who is doing it the best are:
-Quality and consistency of results
And to find out how they do it, you observe their behaviour and try to detect the patterns. ONE WAY of observing the behaviour of someone doing things really well is to offer yourself to that person as an apprentice, or just try to get yourself working under/adjacent to them. But it's only one possible path, and you're more likely to get someone to accept you doing that if you impress them by teaching yourself first. Masters also can get insecure af if you start outshining them, so inevitably you'll have to exceed them, although you don't have to necessarily be an asshole doing so.
