What is the evolutionary explanation behind women aging so poorly? Wouldnt it make more sense for them to stay attractive for longer to have more kids? Why didnt natural selection exert pressure on this?

I think having a ton of pregnancies takes a toll on their bodies. In the past women had many kids, now not so much.
Maybe that’s why the eggs start disappearing at a certain age, making it harder to for them to get pregnant.
Also they need to stay alive to take care of the kid, life expectancy was much shorter in the past.
