I couldn't do the exponents section (3 long questions) in my pre calculus paper.

I'm going back to college at 22. We had our mid terms today and I did everything that was covered in the tutorials, but failed when I had to do different variations that we weren't taught. My lecturer told us that we'd get questions similar to the ones we got on tutorials, so I just did the questions in the tutes. We had just enough time to do the questions, and by the time I remembered how to do them (I did easier versions of questions like that in khan academy like 4 months back), I didn't have time. I gave up when I realized I didn't have time and rechecked the other questions. Will probably scrape through with a B.

I'm concerned because I got blindsided on such easy questions. I knew exactly how to solve it half way through the exam but it was too late.

What should I do anons? I know I have to practice more. Can you recommend good precalc books that have difficult questions? What can I do to get better? I can't repeat any subjects because I'm a poorfag. Doing CS.
