long answer: fuck no. it's the equivalent of measuring the exhaust gases of a car. you can determine the different gases and you can determine how much of them are in there to calculate how much gasoline is burned and how efficiently. same for your body. there really is no better way of doing this.
also i don't understand these graphs. number 2 for example supposedly has higher fat burning rate walking than running? you'd think that more work would require more energy, huh. analyzing breath is accurate but this particular thing looks like a sham. in the end there's only one relation: energy in and energy out. that's it. either eat less or burn more energy or both.
