yes, for kids the death rate is higher, especially five years old and below, depending on other factors like being malnourished, the death rate can go up to 30%.
also, you don't live in a jungle the only factor you should consider shouldn't be "death".

The measles isnt deadly by itself, as you have explained. HOWEVER measles infection causes long term immunodeficiency for about 1-2 years. This immunodeficiency can make over viruses/bacteria deadly in children.

So measles isnt deadly within itself, but it's still intimately linked to the mortality rate of other more deadly viruses.

So yes, measles will spike mortality in the infected for 2 years post infection, as it causes "immune amnesia" depleting pre existing memorized immune antigens, which can remove the immunity given by vaccines and even mother-child immunity.

Despite the virus's low mortality it is absolutely not benign, get your vaccine.
