>>14305687The only true method that helps, is the renforcement of contemplation. Since contemplation is the neurological polar opposite of hyperattention (modern perception of adhd), it will help you learn not only how to focus better, but how to fully immerse yourself into whatever you might be doing.
The goal of contemplation as a practise, is to purposefully bore yourself to death while doing something good for your mind or body.
1. Do a cold turkey on electronic devices, internet and media consumtion. No smartphone, no PC, no laptop, no TV, nothing.
2. Take long walks, preferably alone or with your dog if you have one. Preferably on forest trails or big parks. As long as you can, if you have difficulties just do 1-2 hours. Leave your smartphone at home. No "walking" through shopping districts either.
3. Try reading difficult literature that doesn't try to hold your attention. Which means 99% of all novels are a no-no. 1 hour a day can be a good start.
4. Try cooking your own food based off a recipe from a cooking book. Again, no internet or TV. Try it yourself.
4+. If you are good at drawing or have other directly creative hobbies, try doing that without any electronics aswell. Meaning old school pen and paper.
Don't take medication. It makes everything worse longterm. Don't talk to doctors, 99% of them have no clue about post modern cultural adhd and hyperattention relations. They just parrot whatever they heared from other doctors, and those just parrot whatever they read in old university books from times where smartphones and hyperspeed internet didn't exist yet. The only person I know who understands AHDH is probably Byung-Chul Han who is a university professor in philosophy who teaches in Switzerland I belive.
