Depends where you go. For me, about 20% teaching and related, 20% learning in classes, and 50% doing research, and maybe 10% misc.

i remember my HS math teacher telling me about this. he called them "career students," they just stay in school for a really long time and make money TAing and from loans. i can't imagine its feasible for too long though
