Thing is, the Big Bang is not a theory of genesis; stuff existed before the BB. The BBT is a theory of inflation and a shift in state - from an extremely dense, hot and compact Universe, in fact so hot and dense that it's mathematically predicted that matter, energy and the four fundamental forces were all coupled together in an unrecognizable state, through a rapid inflation to a state pretty much akin to now
No new mass/energy was generated through the BB, it just decoupled and cooled down enough to be recognizable as the Universe we see today
Where did that infinitely small and dense "thing" come from, how was it formed and for how long was it there? That, nobody knows, and we probably never will
