The trick is they read it so much they have it memorized. They just look at the shape of the words on the page and know what it says without reading each word or letter. They relax your eyes like when you look through a microscope.
There's no subvocalization. It sucks all the joy out of reading and makes you a robot or carnival sideshow. Might as well be dead. Plus you don't have any answers to important questions, like heart disease or alzheimers.
You want to read slow. Deep comprehension. If you don't know something, stop. Go back to the dictionary, the original latin and origin of the word if you have to until your brain starts to work.
