I've spilled some water on max-heated hot plate by accident and I've noticed that spillage have formed spherical droplets and they moved fast across the plate and aggregated to one almost floating sphere, the it continued to move for a while until it has evaporated.

The hot plat has no hydrophobic coating (when its turned off, water spreads completely) and water contained added table salt.
