I did the wais not too long ago and i wanted to know how strong the correlation was between performance iq and block design.

On the very last item i performed pretty quickly according to the psychometrician. Does that raise my block design score significantly or not by much?

As you get further into the subtest you have to use 9 blocks so yeah it does get harder.

I did shit on visual puzzles which requires the use of strict mental rotation without the aid of motor functions. Block design uses the same thing, just with use of your hands. Surely the methods of mental rotation must be similar, right? Or am I wrong here?

idk but block design is 2d while the mental rotations are 3d. I would bet that makes a difference

The designs presented to you as the examinee are 2-dimensional. You just have to use the blocks, mentally rotate them, and copy the design.

Visual puzzles is another subtest that requires you to just use your head to complete a 2 dimensional figure out of, let’s say, 3 or more pieces. I just couldn’t do any of those. It’s weird. Guess i’m more of a 3d thinker.

there are almost no hard questions on IQ test, their difficulty usually lies in speed. There isn't a single hard item on Cattell Culture Fair III, but solving 100 puzzles at a rate of 10-20sec per puzzle with hardly any breaks in between the subtests is hard.
