Genuine question: How come abiogenesis isn't still happening today? The Earth is ripe for life... why isn't abiogenesis still happening around our ocean's hydrothermal vents? Why were only the conditions of the early Earth able to produce abiogenesis when arguably Earth was less ripe for life then???? Sorry I know this question is probably retarded, I hope it doesn't sound similar to the retarded creation objection to evolution about why monkeys aren't evolving into humans, but I understand why that is retarded. This is a genuine question, someone please enlighten my retard brain.
