If 2 more white people become scientists, this is less than a 50% increase in white scientists. If only one more black person becomes a scientist, that is a 100% increase in black scientists.
Black males could be doing far worse than any other group, but still be "rising faster"
There are many other factors that lead to what *actually* has lead to any reported increase, but the simple mathematics alone make this non-news
