Don't read fiction, Harry Potter won't make you smarter, but read something that forces you out of your comfort zone, something you have to think about
Unironically poetry is great becaused if you want to understand a poem you have to analyze and delve into figures of speech and metrics and shit; basically it forces you to think
Don't just read philosophy, absorb knowledge and then spit it back on 4chan thinking wisdom = intelligence; study the book, maybe read each chapter 3 or 4 times before moving on, and play it in your mind, analyze it, maybe come up with points and counterpoints, and discuss it with whoever is available (like even on forums, but please God not on 4chan or reddit)
Study something you are slightly uncomfortable with, basically the mind works much like a muscle, the more you exercise it the stronger it becomes, unless you "overtrain" and "injure" it - in this case meaning trying to study shit you aren't yet ready for and getting burnt out
