I've been doing software development for four decades and even though I passed the entire math series for engineers at university, my understanding of math beyond a few topics I make use of regularly is pretty much dick. True, it's getting a little ridiculous. A few weeks ago the department chair sent out an email that outlined how to have a university compliant signature for our emails, it included pronouns... I don't think I'm going to last here.

No. Not even remotely. The average programmer only ever uses high-school-level maths, and not really even that. Programmes are infinitely impressed by the inverse square root in Quake 3, which is actually just Newton's method, i.e., programmers are actually outright impressed by high school maths.
