Not only that but it's essential to the scientific process, you create a hypothesis, you don't have the data yet which is why you create a hypothesis - how is that different from superstition? Your posing a theory about a causal relationship.
If you get rid of the ability to have superstitions you effectively get rid of the ability to hypothesize.
I stress, it's basically the same, because if you come up with a stupid theory or a stupid hypothesis and couch it in science words like "quantum qualia perception" or some shit, the line between superstition and science is blurred.
