How would the average person purify water in the event of a nuclear attack? I heard that Reverse osmosis may work or burning hydrogen. Wouldn't these methods remove minerals we need to survive? How would you do it?

Water generally is a shitty neutron absorber. If the water is taken from lakes or other places then simple distillation would work as only particles that are not of water would be the only potential radiation carriers

the main culprit in radioactive water is soluble isotope salts you fucking retards. no amount of charcoal or filtering would remove that.
best solutions are to add prussian blue to the water or other compounds that limit absorption or some compound that results in replacement reaction creating and insoluble salt

Nothing will create completely non-radioactive water but it will be close. However reusing containers, etc. will just recontaminate the water.
Very tricky.
Humans have never had to deal with widespread radiation.

In the even of a global nuclear war, survivors would just have to suck it up and forget about radiation after a few weeks, or else wear their mask and social distance 6ft for 2 half lives.

Don't worry though, the Democrats put the "girl" in the picture is in charge of nuclear waste in the USA now!

Water, as a neutron poison is pretty harmless

You get normal H20 with Hydrogen-1
At Hydrogen-2, its called deuterium which can only be deadly if you drink 50% of your body weight without drinking anything else for days

Shit is so much less dangerous than smoking

Overall, you should be more concerned about the Uranium dust that are still on the water. Filter it out and it's as good as done
