you need to study Torah every day (be diligent), at least 2 hours, no matter what
while you study, you need think of how it applies to your life. when you finish studying you need to ponder what you learned and also see what in it that can be put to use in your life (see
https://torah.works/2009/06/18/the-letter-of-ramban/ )
knowing isn't enough, you must do
correlating new information with old information helps strengthen it
constant repetition (like hearing lectures of the same subject over and over) ingrains the informations like it were words of a language
cast external matters from your mind (focus on what's useful)
teach what you learn (like I'm doing here)
don't have anxiety, worry or fear, you can only fear God. God punishes you with what you feared would happen to you (because essentially you believe and feel God doesn't control everything, that there is something above God)
don't get angry or sad, God will get away from you (negative emotions in general also make you dumb due to stress)
rebuke others when appropriate, with the appropriate words, at the appropriate time (this also helps repeating what you learned)
guard your eyes, wasting seed starts with not being careful with what you look at (not guarding your eyes desensitizes your brain, reprograms it to seeking immodesty, worsens your memory and attention, among other things)
