Also, Putin invading Ukraine has more to do with the fact that he took Crimea because the area around it (ocean) contains like several trillion tons of easily exploitable natural gas deposits which are worth tens of trillions to the Russian economy and the Donetsk region has a massive shale gas deposit which is worth also trillions to the Russian economy. Everything is predicated by natural and shale gas resource exploitation. Ukraine is vastly rich in natural resources and if exploited properly, can in 10-20 years take Ukraine which is a blip on the map to being a world power that can easily exceed Russia AND completely cutoff Russia from the EU, by which Ukraine becomes the primary gas supplier to the NATO block of countries.
Putin isn't scared of NATO, cause that fucker can saber rattle with his nukes. He's pissing his pants at the idea of Ukraine aligning with these EU block of countries and becoming the new gas exporter, cutting Russia off completely from that revenue source that is currently responsible for like 50% of their export revenues and in turn is responsible for propping up nearly half of their entire standing army (land, air, water, and cyber).
This freedom from nazis and recognizing independence of separatist forces is pure fucking propaganda. Ukraine according to the world bank is resource rich, has black soil, and is considered resistant to climate change. It's like a 9000 karat diamond. Who wouldn't want it.
