Calling all Meteorologists and Nuclear Physics majors

No.14266387 ViewReplyOriginalReport
On April 25th 2019, Donald J Trump suggested whilst on Live TV that we could simply have the USA's military entirely neutralize/eliminate any and all future hurricanes by shooting Nuclear missiles into them. Is the problem really that simple? Would this actually work? Why or why not?

Personally I think the orange man was absolutely bigly on to something YUGE here with this theory, but as a scientist and a skeptic I have to step back and wonder why only one single human being was ever smart enough to figure out how to "solve" hurricanes in the entire 70+ year history of the nuclear age? So honestly idk. Can any meteorology majors or nuclear physics majors care to explain? Maybe even someone who had a double major in those 2 fields? Like why are hurricanes still a thing? Why wouldn't this work?
