With respect to GMOs, are you trying to genetically engineer food that is more addictive? Or trying to create something like a bioweapon? Then GMO is bad. Are you trying to create more nutritious food that can better tolerate droughts or flooding or something like that? Then it's probably good.
However, GMOs themselves are neither inherently good nor inherently bad. It all depends on how they're being used. Unfortunately, most GMO research and production is literally done by multinational megacorporations who have no understanding of ethics, and virtually no oversight or regulations.
