How realistic is the technological singularity/immortality? It plagues my every waking thought. Not just whether I make it but whether I don't and people I hate do and get to live forever in robot bodies while I'm a lump of carbon in the ground.

The notion that at some point in some of our lifetimes, technology will progress so quickly humanity will have to merge with it just to keep up.

If it ever does get to that point, which I doubt, my money would be on AI wiping us out, Judgment Day style

When I can start getting my organs replaced with superior bionic versions, I'd say we're like 50-100 years away from something approaching immortality. I can't emphasize how far away most of those "sci-fi technologies" are and many of them aren't even physically possible.

If you knew what it was, you would understand that there's nothing paranormal about it. With informational singularity we find ourselves in, it shouldn't take you much time to figure out what it was (the only difference is I discovered it before I read about what it was)
