Would you guys classify imagining as the as a real human sensation? Like, what I mean is we perceive light as light with our eyes but it is really just data, no different from sound except for the way the human body perceives it. So it stands to reason that the perception of data within the brain and it's manipulation must also be a measured and real aspect of what humans perceive to exist. The brain is the organ that measures, or senses the data. I am asking because I was having an argument with a friend about whether or not the imagination was real. I said that it was because real was anything measured by the senses or by logical extension thereof, and imagination was measured by the brain. He insisted that it wasn't real because it was just a representation of what was real according to our other senses. What is you guys' opinion on this? His argument was pretty convincing but I still think that mine holds weight too.
