>>14259839>Thinking and Feeling are kind of nonexistent and that makes up the bulk of cognition so I would say that the base for neuroplastic gains is basically non-existent while on these meds. No new things can be learned, and in this state of rigid cognition the brain shrivels up.I've been on very high doses of various anti-psychotics for seven years. sometimes two at the same time. i did also go through electro-convulsive therapy.
i definitely feel like anti-psychotics make me dumber. for instance, my vocabulary used to be reasonably decent, but not anymore. these days the only words i can conjure to describe things are words like "cool" or "nice".
i'm a programmer and i feel i'm not as good at programming since taking anti-psychotics.
my brain feels dull and empty, but i think the meds also help protect my mind from the schizo i've been diagnosed as.
