If you had a telescope that had unlimited view distance and spun it around randomly would you with 100% certainty see a star or planet through the lens? Or is there more empty spots of space than visible objects?

But if your telescope uses something even more magical and its view distance is truly infinite, then... The answer is we don't know, we don't have such magical telescopes.

Most of the sky is empty space but it's packed very densely with small objects so it depends on the field of view. Small enough and the chance approaches 50%, big enough and it approaches 100%

Every telescope has unlimited view distance, even your eyes.

Since our universe seems to be endless eventually you will hit something. The only limiting factor is the age of the universe and the speed of light. Meaning that an apparently empty spot is just a region where the light couldn't have traveled the distance to your telescope, yet.
