>>14247913Find your own source of strength from within you that's neither physical nor emotional. A conceptual strength is what your mind needs in order to stand strong. If you base your strength on physical body, aspects can change and you can lose that source of strength. If you base your strength on emotional state, it can fluctuate and you'll quickly become unstable. Reliance on external things, either relational, physical or emotional are also subject to great instability.
>but how valid are conceptual strengthsIt doesn't matter whether conceptual strengths are valid or not, what matters is whether or not that source of strength can remain a singular source of stability. Even if the whole world is engulfed in hell, that conceptual strength must stand strong regardless. That sort of conceptual strength is what you need to stand strong.
Historically, people have clung to the concept of God that which is eternal/strong/just/etc. Whether or not that is real is irrelevant, as long as that strength becomes a pillar structure for you. When you find that support from that sort of conceptual strength, you can do anything. Rape people, kill people, forgive people, sacrifice yourself, sacrifice others, etc. Its an immense source of strength.
For the "modern" man, you'll need to find a similar sort of strength. For example, there is conceptual strength in knowing the end of the universe. An eternal darkness. Its obviously a nihilistic conceptual strength.
Now ofcourse I've given the extreme ends of conceptual strengths, you don't need extreme ends since human life is short anyway, but you need a somewhat stable structure in life to build the foundations of your mind around. The mental strength and clarity is gained through creating a /resilient/ structure in your mind that allows you find your strength to protect your mind from emotional/physical damage whether external or internal.
Thats my take on it
