Holy living fuck flying in on an asteroid.
Just...what...no...what?...fuck...what?....
Bros, its really over isn't it? I mean for a few years it was possible to pretend everything was okay, that we still lived in a sane world, that all this shit was just media hype, cherry picking, and a few people over reacting...
Still, I suppose we should look on the bright side. Its not often in history that people can be so aware of their own civilization crumbling around them, one little bit at a time around them. We live in a privileged position, to be able to witness the descent of Science into cargo cult status. Science, the most incredible and practical philosophy that Humanity has ever created, with its origins stretching back across thousands of years, across many cultures and languages, which gave rise to improved agriculture, a higher quality of life, technology, and FUCKING INTERPLANETARY SPACE MISSIONS, is being systematically shackled and degraded to the level of a mediocre tool by local council level political hacks
Perhaps the worse thing about this is the fact that the people who institutionalize these changes really dont give a fuck about the people they proclaim to support. Its all about fluffing up their resumes, making themselves look important and proactive, ready to move on up the pay grade to their next job.

New car. Better suburb to live in. Nicer clothes. More expensive dinner parties. More exotic holidays. That's all it really means to them.
