I like many topics. /sci/ was my first 4chan board. And I'm a math major. I'm also interested in economics, psychology, history, and theology. IQ and race just happened to be interesting for me today. Also (if you read OP, the other thread on this board inspired me).

I mostly study diff geo, but race and IQ is a topic of interest because of how controversial, and difficult it is to study- due to politics.

And such discussions were an incessant circlejerk on the same idea. No dissent. If there was dissent: downvote. I get they do attract the wrong kind of people. but they didnt follow this standard for other posts. And, so far, no one was agreeing with my post. It was a reddit circle jerk as usual.

Dilemma.

Most internet discussions are like this. So what does one do? I understand you may just be playing devil's advocate. But it sucks. When one silences a discussion because of this, a floodgate opens of misinformation (or lack of information). And this makes the situation worse if one is trying to mitigate something as people are suspicious about motivations for silencing discussions, and they simply have less places to get good information from- or help (compared to other subjects).
