Why are bird males decorative and females plain, but in humans it's the reverse? In both cases females have expensive gametes and act as sexual selectors, while males compete for them. Wouldn't it make more sense if human men wore make-up, bright clothes and twerked their asses?
Does it have something to do with bird females having heteromorphic chromosomes (ZW) like human males (XY), and bird males being homomorphic (ZZ) like human females (XX)? Or is that just a coincidence?
