Or lie about WMDs to start another oil war? The list goes on. Of course people who are already skeptical won't believe anything we say. No amount of moral chastising will solve it either, just make them think you're trying to manipulate them. Look at the Ebola outbreaks in Africa, those people didn't want treatment because their governments straight up massacre random neighborhoods. Now you want them to trust?
