But i guess what would change would be the idea in peoples minds that we are different from animals, that we are not part of the biological world. Maybe this ide would weaken a bit.
By current definition of what makes subspecies, we humans could be categorised into subspecies, but we don't do that because we are humans and so we consider ourselves above such classifications.
On the other hand, there is another reason we may not want to use the same classification, historically it has been used to justify cruelty and we want to avoid that.
