What's the lie? Michelson experiments showed that the speed of light is constant between the earth approaching the sun and the earth retreating from the sun. This could be explained by assuming light has the magical property that it moves at the same speed always regardless of how you're moving because time itself contracts in a way that makes light move exactly as fast in all contexts. Or the earth just isn't moving
