What was the most interesting notable constructive paper or event in science last month?

Is anybody here doing some metascience, building meta-level/general purpose tools or using scientometrics? What would you be interested in and have you used Scholia or OpenAlex yet?

Thanks. Thought about doing this on a weekly basis but will keep it a monthly thing (also referring to the Wikipedia edits).
That seems the most appropriate scope and it's easy to regularly check these if there's just one per month.

However, misuse (probably not cat girls but that's not the point) of such tech seems largely unaddressed and people should expect some people to not care about what noble original intentions you had.
Scientists seem to fail doing so but it's largely not those I'd consider responsible, which is one of the reasons I think making scientific progress more accessible could be beneficial.
It needs good global governance.

I think pic related is a misleading summary of the paper. It's been known for a long time that mutations happen at different frequencies at different parts of the genome. What this paper was doing was, firstly, show specifically that genic regions have a lower mutation rate than non-genes; and that essential genes had the lowest mutation rate of all; and, secondly, identify the likely mechanisms by which this is achieved.

It may technically not be as accurate it possibly could be because some obscure studies that pretty much nobody is aware of already suggested this based on some undefinitive data/results.

Multiple news articles described the long-standing doctrine of evolutionary biology this way so it seems appropriate.

as i said they have every incentive to lie, there is no reason to believe the vaccine damages are not being underreported, specially when there have been whistleblowers already and evidence of criminal activity by medical government institutions (shutting down other scientists for example)
