Here's some **physics**:
According to the wiki Ray's proportions are 21.5m×16.0m×32.0 m and he's made of "ceramic titanium alloy" which we'll just assume is titanium, giving him a weight of 4.5 tons per m^3.
Now assuming that Ray is a cuboid that gives us about 11,000m^3 of volume, leading to an approximate weight of 5E8kg.
Now Raiden has not only overcome the Gear's weight but has thrown it, and at quite a speed at that.
Using the building right next to the scene for reference which is about 20 or so storeys tall, that puts Ray's displacement at approximately 100m above ground (which checks out if you consider that you could probably fit 10 rays considering the previously mentioned proportions between his position and the ground barring its sword of course).
If you watch the boss fight at 60fps, you'll notice that after raiden gathers his strength and lunges it, it reaches its destination in approximately 3 seconds, giving it an average velocity of 33m/s, which we'll assume is the maximum. Now v^2= u^2 +2as. Since initial velocity was 0, v^2=2as, so that 33^2=2*a*100. Giving an acceleration of about 5m/s. Now since raiden threw the gear at about a 45 deg angle let's just divide by sin45 to adjust as this would be assuming that all his force went into vertically displacing it so acceleration would instead be about 8m/s.
Finally this gives F=ma=5E8*8=4E9
In conclusion, the net force exerted upon MG Ray by Raiden's throw was about 4,000,000,000 N, or 4 Billion Newtons
