Given, r, q, and B, you might be able to find the solution to
$rA^4 -2BrA^3 + (B^2r +1 - q)A^2 -2BA + B^2 = 0$

In general though, that's like asking to solve $Ax^3 + Bx^2 + Cx + D$ . There are no tricks to do it unless $A,B,C,D$ are fixed.

That's because Wolfram can't solve the equation. No one can. You have to have very special cases or know the coefficients in order to solve it. It's nothing like the quadratic case where you can just complete the square and get form of the solution. You can try to factor it into a linear part and cubic part or two quadratic parts and try to solve for the factorization. But even this doesn't work because the determining equations for the factorization are not invertible. You end up having to solve another quartic equation to solve this quartic equation.
