That's exactly what he's attempting to do. The entire purpose of The Boring Company is to drastically reduce the cost of tunneling. Maybe they will fail, maybe they will be successful. But they have no chance of either unless they actually try. There seems to be a strong current here lately that ideas must be completely thought out at all levels or it is not worth pursuing. Many discoveries are not even conceptualized until actual experimentation takes place.
The best way to figure out how to reduce the cost of tunneling is to dig tunnels and determine where the pain points are that cause it to be slow and expensive. Expecting them to figure out how to make tunneling less expensive without ever tunneling first is unreasonable.

He's uploaded 900 videos. Average video of his quality takes 10 hours let's estimate, and figure since he started uploading 15 years ago he likely spends an additional 10 hours a week of "promotion" (maintaining his website, being on social media supporting the channel) and dealing with general admin of researching new content, supporting video/audio gear/etc. So that's 9000 hours of videomaking + 7800 hours supporting the channel. $35/hour is complete shit for someone who presents themself as someone as smart as he thinks he is.

Why do you call it a sewage drain? Are you really that uninformed about the project? While it is possible that someday a public utility would hire The Boring Company to make a sewage tunnel, the company is currently focused on tunnels for automotive transit. Not sure how you got so confused and think they're sewage tunnels. But there are flat Earthers here so I guess it shouldn't be too surprising.
