Longest way: Bioengineering.
But until we figure out how to design cells in proper matter it will take another hundred years. Like as you see now, they can't even find a cure to this shitty corona virus.
Shortest way: Bioelectronics. We are already on it. However you will have to replace your body with a lot of weird electrical components, if you are into that.

We already have synthetic organisms and a few studies into turning cells from specialized to pluripotent to cancer, back to pluripotent though. Outside of mapping which proteins pull what strings, what aren't we able to design?

What department is more like chemistry than biochem but less like chemistry than biological chemistry?
