>>14231237Of course not. Gaining actual insight into the universe and consciousness is a years-long slog of going through math, physics, and neuroscience textbooks. How could flooding your brain with any chemical substitute for that?
What psychedelics actually do is they artificially induce feelings of having a profound insight just like heroin artificially induces feelings of pleasure. When you're tripping, even completely nonsensical schizo ramblings sound like deep wisdom. The problem is that this feeling doesn't wear off immediately when the trip does; the feeling of profundity can stay attached to the ideas for a few weeks afterwards until your rational thinking chips away at it. This means that if you take psychedelics frequently, e.g. once per week, they can make you very gullible.
You can see frequent psychedelic users spiral deeper and deeper into delusion while thinking they're gaining wisdom. They get into astrology, "quantum consciousness", magic chakra healing frequencies, Feng Shui, healing crystals, and every other dumb nonsense under the sun. But when you warn them about their obviously slipping grasp on reality, they just reply that you're not enlightened. It's sad to see.
