>>14235763>Why not?For the same reason I don't take medicine every time I feel a little under the weather, don't take pain relievers for mild pain, and don't get a flu shot every year. I generally don't believe in medical intervention outside of extreme circumstances, especially when it involves injecting chemicals regularly into my body. Living this way, I have developed a strong immune system and a good pain tolerance, both of which I value. For instance, I can count on one hand the number of times I've been sick enough to call off work in the last 15 years, most years I just use all my sick time to take random personal days. Meanwhile, friends of mine who get every vaccine and take medicine at every sign of minor illness get bedridden sick several times per year, which is insane to me.
I was willing to take the first vaccine as a sort of compromise to buffer my immunity to this novel virus, but after that I'm not going to inject myself twice a year and expose myself to possible side effects (no matter how rare) for a virus that I would recover from easily on my own anyway. I'm not inherently against vaccination, but I am against the relentless over-medication of society.
