This. My views overall would be described as pretty "pro-vax" but it's depressing to see how many people pick their views based solely on doing the opposite of whatever their political opposition is doing. I've been following the science behind things like the vaccines and natural immunity pretty closely since this all started, and that's how I have arrived at I guess what you would call mostly a pro-vax stance, but the people in my circle are literally completely ignorant to any science. They just screech about hating antivaxers because social media told them antivaxers are nazis. It's painful for me to engage with them not because we disagree but because their agreement with me is so shallow and comes from such a disingenuous place. My brother had a severe adverse reaction to to the vaccine and we've had to hide it for a year now because people just screech "ANTIVAXXER!" and accuse us of lying. Anyone who isn't a retard and knows basic science can understand that the vaccine works the way it's supposed to, and isn't spooky dangerous woowoo, but a small % of people will have an adverse immune reaction just like they do to COVID ( long-haul COVID). Literally cannot even talk about this because retards from either side will chimp out and whip out the "us vs them" politicization. I've always believed that people are well-intentioned and reason will always prevail, but this pandemic has ripped that belief right out of me.
