>>14225990The real problem with eugenics is the hubris behind its own mythos projected by its proponents. Since it's conception it has been placed on a pillar as the defacto silver bullet to man's ills. But the very supporters who hail it know so little about biology that they would bleed to death from shooting themselves in the foot so many times.
Everyday we learn more about human biology and it's nuisances. We learn that cortical blindness protects against the development of schizophrenia possibly due to rewiring of brain pathways/ prevention of signal miscommunication. Or that asthma patients have lower likelihood of brain tumors because asthma itself produces proteins that suppress tumor growth in the brain.
Neither of these (and more) would have never came to light if eugenists had their way and used their proverbial hammer to nail every flaw they deemed unacceptable out of existence before trying to learn the ins and out it. That's why they along with eugenics itself has such a hard time being respected.
