I was recently interviewed for a PhD program and I have published twice, once as first author in the USA. Every interviewer did the majority of speaking - almost as if they were trying to pitch me their university in a sale. It is my top choice university and I really want to go there.
If they have interviewed me and even told me that they hope to see me there, am I already in? I looked at their acceptance rate and out of 100 applicants they typically take no more than 30 - and according to the interview list they only interviewed about 20 other applicants (this was all virtual of course). I told them I have aspirations to pursue an MD after the PhD - which I do - and they said that they need more people like me.
Am I in? or am I deluding myself? I just feel really anxious.
