>>14227677I love your post. It hits the nail right on the head regarding how reality is "an idea inside of our consciousness, a model we use to navigate with".
To add my two cents, reality is an idea which our intelligence presents to our consciousness. Our intelligence consists of things including our five senses, motor nerves, cognition, memory, and other "tools". Intelligence is required for consciousness.
Using these tools, intelligence can present it's estimation of reality to our consciousness.
Now setting intelligence aside, things start to get bizarre when you use your consciousness to compare reality to nothingness. Nothingness is truly void of any classifications, knobs, sliders, dials, and properties.
Nothingness is not black, for there are no levels of brightness.
Nothingness is not smooth.
Nothingness is not cold, not hot.
Nothingness is not forever, for there is no time.
Nothingness doesn't come before or after anything... but I want to bud in right here.
This kind of breaks the rules of nothingness, but humor me a little. Think of time years before you were born.
Obviously you can ponder what the world was like using your knowledge of human history, but that is not what I am talking about.
I am talking about what it was like for YOU. Get it now? Nothingness.
If you now have a somewhat decent grasp of what nothingness is like, then try comparing it to reality.
Look around. A screen? a computer? a wall? a lamp? a rug?
What the **** is all of this? Compared to nothingness, this is very bizarre.
>birds chirping>that bright light in the sky (ow, my eyes)>the sky itself>the trees>the dirt>the road>the car>your arm>your fingers>your fingernails>your fingerprintsKeep practicing this. Reality will seem more and more bizarre. You will be dumbfounded by this glory which god has forced "you" to participate in.
