>>14231721I'd trust a /sci/entist over a SOIYENTIST^TM any day of the week.
But while we're at it, sure, let's review problems with the BBT.
1. Inflationary cosmology. Space expands. BUT, not anywhere close by where we can actually observe it, say, in a lab. Only in deep space.
2. Inflationary cosmology again. It predicts superluminal velocities, which we have been told by Einstein is supposedly impossible. I have no issue with Einstein being wrong, but if you're going to choose a theoryverse at least don't violate the assumptions you've used to construct it.
3. CMB. No spectral signatures consistent with it originating from plasma.
4. CMB again. The cosmological axis of evil. Do we occupy a privileged position in the universe? Apparently we haven't learned any lessons since Ptolomy.
5. CMB again. It's Doppler shifted so that it only appears isotropic in a single "cosmic rest frame". Utterly inconsistent with relativity.
6. CMB again. Its spectral distribution perfectly fits the blackbody curve, with almost no variation. If the CMB really originated from the early universe, then everything should still be a uniform, diffuse mixture of gas. Every indication suggests the CMB is continuously generated.
7. Matter/antimatter asymmetry still unexplained.
8. Cause of the big bang still unexplained.
So yeah, the SOIYENCE is wrong.
