No. We don't do much to preserve phosphorus in the system. Most of it runs off into lakes and rivers where it does more harm than good. We're going to scramble to redesign most of our infrastructure in a couple decades.

Yeah, it flows into the ocean. It also leaches into the ground water. There's things we can do to recycle what leaves the field in our crops and minimize the losses from leeching and runoff, but there will always be losses, so we'll still need a source.

That's certainly possible, but it needs to be economical. The process has to be cheaper than mining the depleted mines, which are still cheaper than trying to extract phosphates from an average sample of Earth's crust.

They'll be abandoned long before then. When the cost to mine it raises to meet the market price then it's no longer economically recoverable because you can't profit anymore. If the price raises then more becomes economically recoverable, but the price can only rise so high before it becomes impossible to afford food.

Sort of. It's a combination of our population and our poor agricultural practices. You can check out the phosphorus cycle if you'd like. Pic related. There's also interesting dynamics like how phosphate rich dust from the Sahara blows over the ocean to fertilize the Amazon, which loses basically all of its phosphorus to the rain each year.

That proves what? Price went up? Just pay it. Commodity prices fluctuate all the time.
And nitrogen fertilizer isnt really that big of a deal regarding long term supply, phosphorus is much more scarier. Nitrogen fertilizer is infinite if you have energy and can also be made naturally by bacteria.

Most of it is economically none reachable. Even if governaments start to deregulate to certain environmental deaths, meaning on a geological scale, as in eons. at some point more energy would be spent trying to get the oil than would be used by the oil for other purposes.
