How exactly does evolution work? I don't believe a single fish can just turn into a dog overnight and change a whole species. I'm guessing a species is on a brink of extinction which generates lots of stress and triggers random mutations to everyone. They continue reproducing for hundreds of years with other mutated freaks until the ones with the mutation become the dominant genes in the spices and the old genes die out. Is this how it works /sci/?
